Scrap & Music: The Logical Song (Who I Am)

This week's song at Scrap This week's song at Scrap & Music is The Logical Song by Supertramp.

I was really inspired by this song, especially combined with this particular sketch. When I noticed the words “Who I am” right at the end of the song I knew I wanted to scrap a series of photos portraying different sides of the subject's personality through different facial expressions. These photos of Karla taken at a restaurant table were perfect for what I had in mind.

I used “Who I am” as my title and some descriptive words (some from the song, some my own) as my journaling.

I combined a toned down mixed media background with a black filmstrip and bright accents. I like the overall effect.

Once again Ana Castro's sketch is beautifully designed and truly inspiring.

Kreative Koncepts sketch challenge #24: Madie

I have always wanted to play along with the challenges at Kreative Koncepts. Their sketches are amazing! I have finally worked up the courage, pulled out a vintage photo of my aunt when she was 5 years old (I think it was 1976) and created this:

Here are some close-ups:

And the awesome sketch:

Scrap & Music: Girl on Fire

Today is my very first reveal at Scrap & Music and I am so excited to see everybody's work. To be honest, I am quite surprised to see my work between all the beautiful creations. We really do have a fantastic Design Team and I feel so honoured to be part of it.

This layout was a lot of fun to create with misting and stamping in the background. I used paper from the Garment District range by Marion Smith Designs.

House canvas

I created this canvas a few weeks ago at one of our monthly Addicted to Craft meetings. I have come to look forward to these sessions and seeing all the wonderful ladies and their gorgeous crafts.

I used my new favourite technique as a base - book paper collage - and layered some stencils, mists, washi tape and stamps on top. The houses are dimensional chippies from Celebr8, a South African manufacturer.

And some close-ups:

Thanks for looking!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles: April DT Reveal

Our theme at Scrapping Everyday Miracles this month is Faith, Hope, Love (choose 1 or more).
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” - Hebrews 11:1
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” - Romans 15:13
“Let all that you do be done in love.” - 1 Corinthians 16:14

This month I worked with the layout sketch. There is also a card sketch or you can just work with the theme and use one of the scriptures.

I used the amazing Nirvana range by Marion Smith Designs, a new favourite manufacturer for me.

And the sketch from Pagemaps.

There are THREE prizes up for grabs! I hope you'll join us!
